About Us

I’ve spent over thirty years designing strollers for some of the biggest names in the industry. Over time, I started to notice something: while stroller design kept getting better, a lot of the products people used for other parts of life weren’t keeping up.

About ten years ago, while visiting a friend’s beach condo, I noticed something that stuck with me. The place was beautiful and thoughtfully put together, but when it came time to head to the beach, we had to use a clunky, rusted cart that didn’t belong. I went looking for better options, but everything out there felt dated. While stroller design had moved forward, beach carts were still being made the same way they had been for decades. Most were pieced together from leftover parts and barely worked.

Around that same time, I was helping a friend in the pet industry and saw a similar pattern. People were trying to give their pets a comfortable ride, but the only options were cheap, awkward strollers that looked like they were made for kids. It felt off. Pets are part of the family. They deserve something designed for them, not something borrowed from another use.

Then came a family trip to Chicago. We were walking several blocks with groceries, and I noticed how smoothly premium strollers handled the streets. But the carts people used for shopping were the opposite. They were loud, wobbly, and hard to push... Another example of people settling for poor design when they didn’t have to.

All of these moments pointed to the same idea. What if there were carts built with the same level of care and engineering as the best strollers? Not repurposed or retrofitted, but designed from the ground up to meet real needs.

That’s how Wadabuggy started. We took what we knew from years of stroller design and created carts with purpose. Each one is built to handle everyday life, whether you’re heading to the beach, taking your pet out for a stroll, or navigating the city with groceries in tow.

Wadabuggy isn’t a converted stroller. It’s something entirely its own, designed to make your life a little easier and a lot more enjoyable.

Welcome to Wadabuggy.

Wait...what do you call it?

People always ask us where the name Wadabuggy originated. Let’s just say, a lot of time and consideration went into choosing it!

Here in Lancaster, Pennsylvania we call something like this a cart, but the harshness of the word didn’t seem to fit the vibe we were hoping for. The term “buggy” is a form of transportation for the Pennsylvania Dutch, as well as a name given to shopping carts in some areas of the country. The name stuck but was incomplete. It all came together around the dinner table when the latest prototype was described as “what a buggy!”

My youngest daughter immediately and enthusiastically called out “Wada!” “Wada” was the name my elder daughter called herself when she was a toddler and has been her nickname ever since. In that moment, we knew the brand name was complete.
